Volcanic Explorations

Volcanic Explorations

Spend as little as a half an hour or a half a day exploring Mt. Boucherie. This mountain is a focal point in the community and is actually an extinct volcano. The volcano is 50 – 60 million years old and it has slowly been eroding over time. It used to be as high as 2000 metres, but now the highest elevation is 758 metres.

Unique rock formations and streams of ancient lava rock can be seen while exploring the mountain. This is an easy hike that the whole family can do. Please be aware of the signs, as part of the mountain is on private property.

Access is from Eain Lamont Park which is off of Lakeview Cove Place. Stop by the Visitor Centre for details on how to get there.
