Arts & Culture

9:00 am - Start your morning off with a latte, tea or coffee from one of our many cafes.

9:30 am – As you drive along Hwy 97 look for the many art murals and sculptures on display. By the Interior Savings Credit Union, just before Elliot Rd you will find the “Children of Peace” sculpture, done by internationally renowned local artist Jock Hildebrand. As you head into Kelowna along the highway there are two art murals, one on Constable Neil Bruce Middle School and another on a local business. This one depicts the wildfires that ravaged the Okanagan in 2003.

10:30 am - More sculptures can be seen in the Gellatly Bay area. Park your vehicle at Gellatly Nut Farm where there is wood carving and then take a walk along the boardwalk in front of The Cove Lakeside Resort, as the resort has three more sculptures for public viewing. If you are guest of the resort you may also view the many paintings of local artists that are in the hallways.

11:30 am - More local paintings by artists can be seen at Little Straw Winery. In the upper part of the winery they have a gallery featuring local artists. While you are there, take a break and enjoy a light lunch on their patio.

1:00 pm - If you love architectural detailing, be sure to stop by Quails’ Gate Estate Winery and Mission Hill Family Estate. Both feature stunning architectural elements that have captured the spectacular views of the Okanagan.
