Historical Gellatly Corridor

Historical Gellatly Corridor

9:30 am - Begin your day along the waterfront at the Historic Gellatly Ferry Docks where there is an interpretive kiosk and the Waterfront Walkway. Follow the waterfront walkway along past the marina & yacht club. Along your walk you will pass by the Flying Horse Thoroughbred Farm, one of Canada’s finest thoroughbred facilities.

This walkway continues along in front of The Cove Lakeside Resort to the Gellatly Nut Farm – Canada’s first and oldest commercial nut orchard. This 9 acre farm is situated along the lakefront and features some very unique nuts like the heartnut and the buartnut (a cross between and butternut and a heartnut). Walking trails are throughout the park as well as product sales in during harvest.

11:30 am - After visiting the Gellatly Nut Farm head back to your car, but before you do, stop off at the Bonfire Restaurant at The Cove Lakeside Resort and enjoy the beautiful lakeviews.

1:00 pm - The next stop is the Gellatly Heritage Park where there is an interpretive trail leading a restored log house and barn and a rock bluff that overlooks Okanagan Lake.

2:00 pm - Final stop of the day is the Westbank Museum which is off of Hwy 97. Discover native artifacts and learn about the region’s history.
